Marco Geracitano, Head of 2D, along with Alice Antognozzi, VFX Producer, and Paolo Lonzi, CG Supervisor, took us behind the scenes of ‘The Equalizer 3’ on a journey in the heart of VFX of one of the most stunning sequences: the explosion of Emma Collins’ car (futuring Dakota Fanning) in Piazza Trento e Trieste in Naples.

The scene required a complete reconstruction of the square, starting from 8k anamorphic plates, which served as the background for the real explosion shot on a green screen with the addition of debris, smoke, and CG fire.
